One of the key features of my work is that I am able to handcraft bespoke furniture to the customers requirements
Reclaimed materials are used where ever possible as timber cut from slow grown Redwoods that has aged over time has far more character than modern fast grown Spruce.
Whether new or reclaimed, timber can be subject to shrinkage or expansion, depending on the environment in which it is placed, and may also develop cracks and become slightly warped. This adds to the aged look of the furniture while also giving it more character. On some of my pieces I use new steel, mainly for table bases and legs. Although the steel’s finish may have scratches or marks, this in entirely normal, even for new steel. These are important details to take into account before placing an order. Additionally, to ensure that the furniture is fit for any home, all of the finishing products used are non-toxic and pet friendly
In order to ensure that every commissioned piece is designed to your taste, I always conduct a consultation before starting the work. Completed over the phone, or face-to-face with local clients, the consultation involves an in-depth discussion of your design requirements and needs,. Timescales are also discussed with most commissions taking around two to three weeks to be completed. I take pride in maintaining excellent communication, and will always update you if necessary. The cost of the commission will be dependent on your individual requirements. However, it is important to note that all commissions require a non-refundable deposit.
With more than 40 years of experience and all of the relevant qualifications, I am capable of creating simply stunning furniture. Two of my main priorities are providing a personal service and crafting products that meet my exceedingly high standards. I use all of the finest materials to ensure a long-lasting piece, and use the most effective, proven techniques when crafting the furniture.
